People who widen your perspective

Six guest speakers contributed to the 2026 internship experience, connecting students with perspectives on service, communication, fundraising, and the NICU.

Skills beyond the summer

Students practiced teamwork, public communication, and project ownership while contributing to a cause. Community service hours were recorded for the time they volunteered.

Inside the 2026 learning tracks

Two ways to contribute. Skills that connect.

The 2026 orientation introduced fundraising and social media tracks. Both helped students connect nonprofit purpose with practical communication, research, and project work.

Fundraising: from an idea to a plan

Students explored fundraising initiatives, business outreach, and grant research. That work invites useful questions: Who is the audience? What need does the project address? What information would a potential supporter need?

Research, a clear explanation of the mission, and organized follow-through are part of the learning. A grant application is an opportunity to practice that process; it is not the same as an award.

Social media: turn understanding into a story

The 2026 session plan included Canva, content planning, carousel posts, Reels, and Stories. The aim was to communicate the mission in ways people could understand and share.

Good storytelling also involves choosing reliable information, matching words and images, respecting privacy, and improving work through feedback. Those habits matter as much as learning a particular platform.

What to ask about a future cohort: eligibility, time expectations, available tracks, meeting format, supervision, and how volunteer time will be documented. The next program’s details will be shared when confirmed; the 2026 schedule is a record of that summer, not an open enrollment offer.
